The Newtownabbey Foodbank operates to ensure those in poverty don’t need to go hungry.
So… how do I get help??
We work on a referral basis, so your first step is to contact one of our partner agencies. Our page “Get Help” page will give you all the details you need. They will get your a paper voucher or a code to take to one of our “Foodbank Centre locations”. They’ll also try to help in any other ways they can, e.g. through benefit checks, advice and additional support. Their aim is to help improve your situation so you no longer need help from the Foodbank.
At the Foodbank, our wonderful volunteers will great you warmly and make sure you are supplied with a balanced 3-day food parcel for your family. Where possible, they’ll also offer a cuppa and friendly chat in a welcoming atmosphere.
There is no judgement. People come to the foodbank for all sorts of reasons, and any of us may only be 1 or 2 problems away from needing help. We’re here to make sure you feel valued and cared for.
